This one : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gibson-1966-Cherry-SB-300-Bass-Body-Neck/353160653033

Not only does it have a mahogany body, but it's av very early SB 300 with 34" scale from 1966!

My best guess would be that it's a 400, but anyway this looks like a good project.
Pickups are easy enough to find, but this one screams 'do something wild to me' 8)

That's "gibsondependable", AKA the Jersey butcher, known for parting out instruments. Looks like he's got the bridge base, bridge cover, and (3) of the tuners for sale as well.

Current bid of $305 is already too high.

Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

It's a nice sounding bass - those pups defy their flimsy look -, but that bass from 1966 is not. Late 60ies/early 70ies, soon superseded by the SB-350 (which is less desirable).
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

If this is the one with th Gibson covers on a single coil , I used  a SD Jaguar or Mustang single coil trimmed the bobin  so the covers fit. I also have some aluminum plates for pups  and possibly control plate .worked well
It takes a very deep-rooted opinion to survive unexpressed

Yeah, it's single coil, that is the whole charm of it and gives it something Rickenbacker'ish. Sounds quite unlike any other Gibson bass, but in a good way. An SB 400 (the long scale sibling) sounds even better though.

"charm" isn't the word I'd use.  :P

Can't you learn from your previous mistakes for once, Dave?!
