Sad news. Loved his music with Talk Talk and on his lone solo album.

The progress from early synth pop to the organic sound of "The Colour Of Spring", very experimental "Spirit Of Eden" and "Laughing Stock" and his timeless acoustic solo album is quite astonishing.

A real loss. Talk Talk were unique.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

Totally unique band. I've always wondered why their moment of fame was so shortlived. They were huge in the mid eighties. But then they just disappeared off (my) radar.

RIP. Underappreciated.
They were drastically different after their 80s fame!  I had no idea until recently.
As Wikipedia puts it: "Along with the band Slint, Talk Talk are credited with inventing "post-rock" in their last two albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock."

Those albums are well worth a listen. I think I'll put them on today.
