Hey, I'm in good company! T'was September 1988 and a gentleman who later on became President of the US of A (and in hindsight certainly had some achievements) exclaimed on national TV (in September!) to a befuddled nation:

"VICE PRESIDENT BUSH: Is this the time to unleash our one-liners? That answer was about as clear as Boston Harbor.

VICE PRESIDENT BUSH: Do not erode out of the system the thousand points of light; the people that are out there trying to help these kids.

GOVERNOR DUKAKIS: A thousand points of light, I don't know what that means.

VICE PRESIDENT BUSH: We are going to make some changes and some tough choices before we go to deployment on the Midgetman missile or on the Minuteman, whatever it is.
