You wouldn't want to cut into Henry's profit margin at this time of economic crisis, would you?

I like that colour. Very Burns-a-like.

The damn thing is so pretty it makes me want to go buy a new "stock" one and find a way to stain it green! Then there's the gold hardware  ???
Still, why can't they do this on a bass..........

You could probably buy a new one, have it refinned and have the hardware gold-plated for less than the cost of having one made by Gibson's custom shop. Of course the downside is that it wouldn't have the resale value, but you wouldn't be buying it for an investment anyway.

I've seen and touched a post 1987 Gibson TBird with gold hardware, a white one. Probably not a custom shop model, but it didn't look aftermarket either. If they can turn guitar hardware gold (and regularly do that), it won't be an issue for them to chuck some bass hardware into the chemical bath as well. My Custom Shop Explorer has gold hardware as does my Custom Shop acoustic fretless Super 400 bass. And the EB-750 as well as the rootbeer LP Doublecut feature gold hardware too. Come to think of it, so did the handful of triple minibucker pupped TBirds they put out in the early nineties if my memory doesn't fool me.

Right you are Sir, it just boggles my mind that they wouldn't just go ahead and offer this as a stock finish. I mean come on, even you would cave in and buy one!   ;)

They only feed us a worm or two for basses in the Epi line.
