The Midtown is not the greatest sounding bass on earth, but bodies do attract, hollow bodies I mean.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

So, there will soon be a limited edition signature Phil Lesh hollowbody with 43 knobs?  8)

Case candy: 9V battery and LSD.

so good to see him not playing one of those 6 string Modulas things

I played a used 2014 Midtown last year. It really has a nice tone. It's a surprise to see Phil with one considering his history.

Even Henry J. wouldn't go that far.  ;D  Rick Turner might mod it for him, though.

Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Huh, he just got 2 new Alembics a little over a year ago - 1 short and 1 medium scale.

I've not been able to dig out any info on the gig in terms of location or date. Maybe he was pleasantly surprised when he tried out Big Brown last year, and decided he wanted a modern semi-hollow?

Is John Mayer playing with Lesh now too? That guy cheats on bandmates more than he does Blondes.

Alanko

I'm guessing that is a Terrapin Crossroads gig? I listened to a few of those, but don't remember John Mayer. He's a dastardly pretty-boy and a bit of a shagger, but I hate to admit he is a pretty good guitarist!
