While we're at it, I offer a shout-out to a Jazz with color-matching body and headstock, PLUS all the covers.  Love that look!!!!

Especially when that color is fiesta red!

Even though I'm not a fan of Fiesta Red, this one looks great, with the covers, pickguard and all.

Cool having the two output jacks. Not sure I would have put them on the back like that! I really want to hear this bass in action!

That is just about the perfect Jazz bass in my book. Love the hidden mudbucker idea, might have to do that to mine someday.

Now that is what a jazz should look like! Maybe one of Doug Rauch's?

Doubt it, he seemed to have only one.

He also had Jazz Basses with block markers during his stint with Buzzy Linhart's Music and The Voices Of East Harlem but they didn't have a mudbucker (or a P-pickup in the middle). That black "funk machine" was also played by his predecessor in Santana, David Brown, during 1971. Maybe Doug got it off him.

Anyway, thanks for mentioning one of my absolute favourite bass players ever! :)
