the only 78s that are worth anything are certain old jazz, country and blues, and a handful of classical records. all the other pop stuff of the time like sinatra, bing crosby and wartime big band stuff make great skeet.

My dad had a bunch of old 78s when I was little.  Probably the typical stuff, but there was one record he brought back from Okinawa that I used to listen to over and over (mind you, I was probably age 10 or younger).  It took me a long time, but I finally found the song online after a couple years.  It's in my library now.
