This old lady did a fairly low flypast over the same reservoir they did their training 70 years back - there's quite a bit of footage on you-tube now - there were also a couple of specially painted Tornado's done up in the Squadrons colours...

In this one it almost looks like she's flying through the trees in places...
Bear this in mind... a Lancaster is about 70' in length with a 100' wingspan... when Guy Gibson's men did this for real when the practiced at this reservoir and had to precision fly at only 60', in the dark...
There is only one of the crews still living and he was there to see this...
All very jingoistic, I know, and often considered highly controversial, but at the time this was an enormous influence on British morale after so many years at War...
