An Epi bass that has been "customized"

Not sure what it is around here (maybe the summer sun) that makes people do things to their basses, but here is another example of Arizona's continued Gibson/Epi bass abuse. Not the worst I've ever seen, but not the best either.

Personally, I think new RI models are fair game. Looks like this guy was doing a trailer park budget version of a weak attempt at the Zemaitis look.
Then again, I've had comments on the Holy Crap bass before...

The price is what gets me. A new Epi EB-3 is $299. This goober actually expects to get more for screwing it up almost beyond recognition.

I can't agree with you more. The FleaBay mentality is beyond understanding. Remember the ET-288M (same model as the Holy Crap bass) going for $800 in the past few months?

ON THE OTHER HAND!.... That is the exact Epi body and colour that I want for my EB DarkStar project.

Yeah, but you can pick up a brand new unmolested one for $300 and not have to worry about fixing any of this guys "improvements".

hehehe true. Gotta say though that I haven't seen many Epi EB's in Australia that have a transparent finish showing the wood grain. Which is what I'm after. They all seem to be flat Ebony or Cherry.
