It's got a nice sixties vibe to it, I can hear Peter, Paul & Mary doing it. But as your voice isn't as high as Mary's (or even Madonna's, especially if electronically speeded up as a lot of her early stuff was), you would have sounded more comfortable with it tuned down a halfstep or two.
