1993 USA Chaparral from TB.  Arrives Wednesday...pretty sure a ThunderBucker or two will fit if the EMGs disappoint.  I've been playing my 8ers a lot and want to see the difference 4 more strings make.

I need to dig out my 80s Hamer B12S, back in the early 90s I had two and they were all I played.

Oh my goodness.

I can't stand the look of those, but they sure are fun to play around with.  Playing it too much is one sure way to get kicked out of a band though.   :P

Nice! I'm still wishing for a 8 string.

Wowzer! Looks awesome! I am more of an 8-string guy myself but I bet you will enjoy this one.

Nice score!  I liked the Cruise that guy has up as well.

I've never tried a 12ver, but I bet it would be fun!  Look forward to hearing your opinions on it.

Love to get 'hold of a Hamer someday - B8S, B12S, or any other stunning derivative would do me fine!

Yum.

Yeah, the Cruise is nice, I'd go for it if I didn't have one.  Seller is a very decent guy.

Since playing the 8ers and messing around with MANY string combos I'm pretty sure I prefer long scale with a 17-105 set.  I can chord them no problem and the sound is hellacious.  Looking forward to seeing what 4 more strings add and how different it plays.  Pretty sure I could get my money back if I don't like it.  The list on a new one is insane.

I don't know if it's been mentioned here yet, but apparently Hamer is closing up shop.  It's been discussed on the HFC page, but I didn't see anything on the Kaman website.

Was wondering about that. Maybe it's time to invest in a Hamer 12ver? Or at least an 8? if only...

I hadn't heard that. I see the HFC thread and a search shows threads on a few other forums that seem to get their info from the HFC thread. And there's a Wikipedia entry with no citation.

Could be true. I'll believe it when I see official confirmation.

It's true. FMIC has mothballed Hamer. They are only finishing up the custom orders that they already have approved. Even new orders dealers have tried to submit are being turned down.

Sad.

The long awaited Hamer Guitar coffee table book on the history of the brand that is due out in 2013 will now be a eulogy :(

What about the import Hamers? Any word?
