Autumn is good

I just spent a couple of hours in the yard with the leaf blower and smoking an A. Fuente cigar. It's overcast due to the weather changes from Hurricane Sandy, but just a little while ago, for about 15 minutes, the leaves on the dogwoods, crape myrtles and maple trees were glowing.

Having just survived another birthday, I would take the entire month of October off work if I could.

Autumn is good.

About time for me to do some mulching, although my maples aren't quite done shedding. Then there's gutter cleaning....

Well, let's see....it was 80 degrees here Wednesday, and we woke up yesterday to this...



And this morning, to this....



So we'll have to wait for a melt before worrying about leaves.

Wait, then this is NOT a thread about the little daughter of him who may not be named in every thread? That even more black-ens my day than the prospect of getting now some weeds cut that have reached giant size before our garage - and all that while it is snowing here too! Just a week ago we had the warmest Indian Summer in a long time.

It was a very dry Summer here, went almost 90 days with no rain starting in late July. My lawn is finally starting to green up again.
