Nocturnal

There was a live album that MSG put out around 1982 that had pic's of a different explorer type of bass. The other bass had slider switches (I want to say 2 switches but that was a lot mind altering substances and years ago) and IIRC body binding. I always figured it was a custom. I may still have that album at home. I'll have to look later.

No I don't believe it's a Hamer. The logo doesn't seem right.
I mean if you look at the LP sleeve of One Night At Budokan there's a few quite clear pics of that same bass.

But it does have white bindings...

Uwe seems to be certain it's an Ibanez Destroyer. But I think that logo isn't correct either. Ibanez had the logo on the very tip of the head stock.

While Chris Glen's bass has a logo somewhere under the D and G peg.
I can't quite decipher what it spells but it seem to begin with a K...

Let's ask the man himself. I just sent him a friend request on MySpace.

I'm not sure it is an Ibanez at all, it just looked like one to me. It is certainly no Gibson, it could be a Hamer, after all they built one for Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash too. Now that he's back with the TSAHB (who found a worthy replacement for Alex), he's not using it anymore at least from what I can tell from the last, recent live album.
