Creative Hollywood accounting
« on: June 01, 2012, 04:38:55 PM »
I read last year that the actor who played Darth Vader had never got any residuals for Return of the Jedi because the studio accountants claim the film has never turned a profit.  ???

Now there's more info: it seems that the Star Wars franchise has brought in $33 billion over the years, yet somehow the $32.5 million it took to film  Return of the Jedi has never been recouped.

Poor George Lucas.

Still no residuals

Sounds like marketing for the film cost them a hefty $442.6 million...
