I thought they were dry clean only ???  I guess the little lady could drop them off at the dry cleaner's :)

Those shows you mention exist apart from their sponsors and were made by (or for) a network or for syndication. The Les Paul Listerine shows were paid advertising spots that appeared on all four networks.

Call it what you want, but he didn't have a TV show from 1953 to 1960 as he claimed.
