All very good points. I know it is not the one pictured on the Alive cover but a later version, Im sure Gene had more than one Grabber. Interesting about the wear on the bass, you may be on to something.
Y'know, in a way, this thing is still suspect to some extent. IIRC, the Grabber that Gene is pictured with on the cover and booklet of Alive! has a skunk stripe and the "negative" headstock pitch. This'n has no stripe and a conventional Gibson headstock pitch. Kiss used to endorse Gibson, so there were always plenty to go around. I'd wager that most of the damage came from Mendoza - if you ever saw him with The Dictators or in the early TS days, he wore a studded belt and wristbands, and always hammered away at the bass. Unless the seller is Gene's pal, it would probably only require the right number of dead presidents to get him to hold and sign it for posterity (and a higher resale).

Maybe the one in the picture where Gene is biting the headstock....you are right about the lack of neck angle in the early pics...he prob had a bunch of them...

Somewhere, I have a 70s magazine that shows a backstage pic of a stack of Gibson boxes, with a Marauder (autographed by Paul Stanley, IIRC) leaning against it.

Nice shorts, Top Ten - and check out Ross The Boss in his pre-Manowar / loincloth days.
