Before there was Loreena McKennitt or Blackmore's Night or even Clannad & Enya there was Fairport Convention, with the lovely & talented Sandy Denny. Many of you will recall that she sang with Robert Plant on The Battle of Evermore.
This song Tam Lin is the best! I discovered it in 1999, but it was recorded in 1969. I first heard it thru headphones at the BORDERS in Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii. I bought the cd straightaway!

The studio version is tighter & even better. The recording quality is much better too. If you like this you should get the '69 album Liege And Lief too.
