Haven't we seen that seller mentioned here before?  I did laugh at the Q&A, though.

Even if Overend Watts himself owned that, no Thunderbird is worth that asking price.

Crazy money for sure.  Not sure it warrants such an abusive response though!

Yes, we've seen that seller before. He's been banned from the TDPRI more than once under different usernames for being abusive to people who questioned his listings or his pricing, and at least once when he responded with a stream of abuse to a buyer's claim that a guitar was misrepresented. Also used the seller name "undathebed."

Now I remember the rap on this guy, at least the main one. He would offer real vintage Teles and Esquires that allegedly were assembled from real vintage parts he bought, some people  were following his parts purchases on eBay.

Saying that a guitar is all original when you have bought missing original parts for it to make it all original is a bit sketchy. OTOH I don't think he ever claimed that every part on the guitar was the same one it had when it left the factory. Caveat emptor, especially in the vintage market.

I'd say that "all original" is a damn lie, unless the parts on it came on it when built.

"All parts are period correct" would be honest.

It does tend to make the buyer mad if and when he finds out.

Haven't we seen that white one before? Didn't we come to the conclusion it was a refin? Could that white paint be hiding a repaired headstock?

Olivia's has a very nice one for a fraction of that one's price:

It could have been posted here before, I don't remember it. The yellow headstock edges make me suspicious.

Olivia's sure seems to be a good place to deal with, though most of what they have is out of my range. The only thing better than their photos would be seeing the piece in person.

That, and the apparent lack of a serial number.

Okay, that was the one you couldn't see all the pics without signing up. That listing does mention a serial number.
