John Siegler...
« on: January 29, 2012, 01:04:31 PM »
Siegler's work with H&O and Utopia was an early influence for me during my adolescent foray into bass playing.  Always enjoyed his sound and style... (that and the vocals here almost make up for the album cover!  :o)

About a year ago I sold an old Moog that I had restored to this guy 'Guido' in Brentwood, TN who turns out owns a studio there.  Nice guy, and yesterday I noticed him post an interesting piece of gear for sale on one of the forums with a track that he used it on while playing guitar.  Well, I rather liked the track and his guitar sound, and it turns out its part of an album he just released... and Siegler is the bassist!  Actually, Kevin Ellman and Roger Powell (Utopia) are on this too, as well as Reeves Gabrels from Tin Machine.

If you are into prog/fusion/jazz stuff, then I thought you might enjoy this too...

Yeah, Siegler is a mutant! I really enjoy his playing on "Todd Rundgren's Utopia". He's touring with them currently,
they played Atlanta a month or so ago and I had to miss it due to health issues. Boo! >:(

Utopia lost "Moogy" towards the end of last year, God rest him...
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...
