Very low production numbers on that IIRC, something like 10 pcs total. One of our members has one.

One poorly lit pic? And $1550 AUD for a Greco?

That is a surpassingly crappy photo indeed.

Rene gets some very interesting gear into his store, but his prices are generally around $200 above reality.

However, that is a super rare bass.  If I didn't already own the also-quite-rare single pup Greco bird I scored on this forum I would definitely be keen.

If it wasn't in Australia I'd be all over it.

I never knew that Greco made a version of an NR bird. It looks pretty spot on minus the bridge.

All of the photos on that site suck though. I'm sure whoever buys gear for them also would not buy an expensive guitar from someone that only had one terrible photo. Not sure what they are thinking. When I see an auction on Ebay that only has one photo that happens to be crappy, I pretty much chalk it up to them being rookies but based on this person's site they seem like they have been at it long enough to know better than that. Just my opinion though. Still a nice bass though.

Sydney is a big city, and Rene's store is located on a strip where there are 6 or 7 guitar stores, so I think his strategy is to use a shitty photo to encourage people to come into his store for a better look.  I'd be surprised if he does much online business in selling instruments.  He does sell a lot of tubes and other bits and pieces online thru his ebay account though.  Just about every guitar or bass player in Sydney knows that if they want to see some cool guitars in the flesh then that stretch of road is the place to go.  The Australian equivalent of Bass NW or Bass Central is there too, as is the main vintage Fender dealer in the country.
