This bridge looks okay... ....apart from the holes in the body. I love the colour of this one.

Nice color! The bass obviously is a post '89 Bird and came stock with a three point. Why would anyone go to all the trouble to refin and trick that bass out and not fill the threepoint holes ?

Did he refin that or did he say Gibson's custom shop did the color??? Beside the Orville Pickups...it's a stock USA T bird with chrome parts.

CS did the color only.  Would have made more sense to refin a complete Orville after filling the holes.  I guess 'luthiers' aren't capable of that.  Color is nice though.

So it was delivered in that color then modded? Ok got it.

And the case is an Epiphone.  Nobody ever said that working, and well-known musicians were rich or smart.

JMJ sold off 25-30 of his basses awhile back. i guess this guy bought a couple to flip. :-\

It's pretty. It's also not a Custom Shop bass, even though it's priced like one.

What exactly does "certified by" JMJ mean? Did he certify that he had Gibson pull a production bass off the line for Gibson's Custom Shop to finish and fit with the pickups he sourced. i.e. that it left the factory like that? Or did he just certify that he once owned it? If it's the latter, then this may just be an existing bass that he installed Orville pickups in and had refinned by the Custom Shop. That would make it just a modded bass with maybe a little celebrity value.

Dave I'm sure you're right about that I think I remember him talking about modding his Tbird back in the Dudepit,
Cheers,

Jaime, that does ring a bell. He did pop in and ask for advice too. It's been too long to remember specifics.

My recallection is he indeed put those Orville pickups (I think he bought them from Japan) and Badass after he got it from Gibson.
