Uwe, What are you impression sound wise on your new Cherry Thunderbird?  Of all the post '89 Thunderbirds I have owned this is by far the best sounding imho. My '93, '01 were both boomy in the lower register with just the neck pup on. This bass really cuts through more mids and highs than any other post '89 bird I have played. In short to me it sound sort of like a 60's Thunderbird but cleaner no inherent grind.

Sorry, Scott, haven't gotten round to it yet. Too much to do in the office. Poor thing hasn't even had its intonation checked yet by me. But I'll take it to the rehearsal on Wed and compare it to my Blackbird, so far my sharpest and brightest sounding Bird.

Ok, I played it now, but it is not as bright as either my Blackbird or my 2006 flat black TBird with a one piece maho neck (no nine-ply). Yes, the low bass is more focused on the Cherrybird than on the 2006 one (but not more than on the very tight Blackbird),  but output is lower too and presence outright dull. Possibly, the strings are already gone, so I will restring it and try again.
