Black Friday with The Nasty Habits
« on: November 27, 2011, 01:51:27 PM »

Some Black Friday fun with The Nasty Habits at The Funhouse, Seattle's oldest, best Punk bar.
I'm lovin' my Lull Thunderbird lots lately, tho I wish Uwe's new RD had shown up in time to use for our encore.....................I never, ever thought I'd play this song!  :o

And still an old fave of mine, The Cult's "She sells Sanctuary"

Mark That Lull sounds great ! What amp are you using ? Sounds like you've got a pretty good stage volume!

Hey Scott, the Lull is awesome, single pickup 'Birds are the s#%*! The signal chain is bass>Line6 basspod live (Acoustic 360  model) >GK 1001RBII>2 SBX4x10 cabs, I did have the volume up to about 10:30, they like it loud at The Funhouse -  I love a sweaty dive bar show!

Mark, you and your band just tear it up.  Dang.

MArk - what do you think of the line 6???  does it really deliver the goods.  i have found most digital amps are too compressy in their attempts ...

I like mine very much, I'm currently using the Acoustic 360 model copied and repasted for each of my basses, which means I can tweak each bass for individual parametric eq, compression, volume etc. So for example two basses with very different output like a Greco TBII and a '76 Gibson can be given their own customized preset. It has a lot of models, I really liked both of the Hi Watts and the Ampeg as well. The GK isn't colorless but doesn't hurt the tone either. I think the trick with it is too take the basic factory preset ( which is likely set up to sound good in a bedroom/ showroom setting) and reset it to your own tastes - for me, it was a steep learning curve at first, I had help from our guitarist on what to attempt with my tone,  the kind of frowny face eq.
For those of us that want to gig lots of different basses I highly reccomend it, you can even bypass the models and just eq straight into your amp.
It gets a big  from me

thats what i was thinking.  i gig with about a 25 bass  rotation and i wont even discuss my recent amp odyssey again.  also lots of cabs depending on gig....    doesn't easily make my sound consistent but i love my toys....
