Nuts

here is the question. when you are sighting down a fretboard from bridge to nut the G string area often seems to slope down a tiny bit out of level. is this normal, sign of a twist or something wonky with my vision. i see it quite often and decided i needed an answer. thanks.

It could be an optical illusion caused by the fact that the g-string is thinner and your eye is fooled by that difference between it and the e-string.  Just a thought.  Or, you have a bunch of warpd necks?   ;D  Probably not!

I generally sight down the edge of the fretboard due the optical illusion aspect.  when I have the strings off, I'll sight it from the bridge end to the nut.

yes the g string/nuts interface is quite tricky.
