Hi.  :)

A couple of years ago, I started a blog about my collection of
mainly Basses but also Guitars and Twin Necks, which as of
yesterday has now had over 20,000 hits!

In that time I have included features about instruments that I
have/have had, some details about amplification and a feature
on Peter Cook, the guitar builder and luthier - his most famous
association was with The Who, making custom basses for
The Ox and modifications for Pete.
He was also "Ned Callan" as well as being "Gibson's man in the UK"

The most read features on the blog were about Peter Cook, so in
celebration of the 20,000 hits milestone, my latest post has links
to the feature about Peter, his music and his work - in chronological order,
as well as links to other features.

I have met many interesting people on the journey, had some great e.mails
and shared stories with owners who have of have had similar instruments.

If you fancy a quick look, go here.

Congrats...!

Hows the (personal) modifications doing...?
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Yeah, hope your recovery is going well.

As for your blog, may the next 20,000 hits come even faster.

Kenny, Hi. :) Everything back to normal, thanks.

Gigs start again in a couple of weeks - looking forward to it.

Cheers. :)

Dave, Hi.

Thanks for your thoughts, all fixed now. :)
Doc said it may happen again in the future but at least I know what is involved now.

On average, I get around 80 hits a day and increasing.
It's interesting to see what trends.
At the moment, its Ovation Magnum III (20 views today so far) Westone Rail, Peter Cook FenderBirds,
Peter Cook, Guitar Builder, Fender Urge 1 (don't know why but this gets hits EVERY day!), Peavey T-60,
Peavey T-40, Ibanez RS-924/2626B/SR 900  -  in that order.
Tomorrow it will be different.

I guess there is a decent Magnum III up for sale somewhere.

I have had great fun doing it so far and there is still a long way to go - it will take me another year, at least!!
Met some really nice people through it, had some great e.mails and kept in touch with a lot of people all
over the world.
Had all sorts of questions on individual instruments - How heavy is it? What do the controls do? Can you take
a picture of the wiring? Neck sizes, balance, tuners, sounds etc.
One of the best ones, from someone I still keep in touch with now - Hi Jeff, if you land on this - I still have a chuckle
about this one. . . . . . .

"I have a T-40, just like your 79 Natural but mine is white, with a rosewood fingerboard. It also has different
pickups and the switches look bigger. Mine doesn't have a metal nut, either. Great bass, I love it"

When I'd finished giggling, I replied and asked him - "Is the body on yours more contoured, with a rib cut out?"

Jeff's reply. . . . . . "Yes, now you mention it, the shape is different to yours"

There you go, a T-40,Just like mine but actually Entirely Different!! ;D Priceless!  8)

I am now up to 20,907 hits, so I'm well on the way for the next 20,000.

All the best.

Cheers. :)
