I'm not affiliated in any way...but this could be the real deal and with only 19 hrs left I thought someone here might need this. The same seller's got a mudbucker for sale as well and it looks legit...although I could be wrong...dm

Looks like the real deal to me.  Just under 9 hours left and $4.99 at 9:40 MT.

Could be, or might be from a Japanese copy.

That was the real deal.  So which one of you buzzards beat me out by a buck?

Could be from a Kalamazoo KB-1 or an old Epiphone Newport as well.

That was an old nickel bridge - or tailpiece.  I would guess pre-1965.  Calling them a bridge implies more functionality than they really deserve.  But weather from an EB, EB2, EB0, EB3 or even a Newport or Kalamazoo - they are all the same.  I just can't bring myself to pay $100 or more for one, especially when they only provide "close enough" intonation and I am never selling the one I have that is missing the original bridge.  I drew a line in the sand at $89.  $90 is a penny over the too close to $100 for me to feel good about it.  I will get one eventually.  If I drop dead before I do, then the next guy will get one.

I threw a bid on that mudbucker too, but I don't really care about that.

I scored one off Ebay for 76 dollar the other day.

But that one looks slightly different.

For a fit-inducing thing as far as intonation, there are several versions of them.  That $90 one is pretty early.   Your $76 one is a bit later.  You can see the difference in the "hooks."  The earlier one has narrower hooks, while the later one is more rounded, bulbous.  It also looks shiner - I suspect they plated them.  There are some that are hollowed out if you flip them over.  I guess those are among the last variants.  Those are for sure plated, and I think made of nickeled or chromed brass.  I believe those early nickel heavy muthas were used from 1953 up until 1963/4 when the one with the more substantial and post snugging hook shows up.  Then the hollowed out thing shows up until it is phased out in 67 (someone paid $172 for one the other day!!!!!!).  I wouldn't be surprised if they started doing that one on Kalamazoos, but I had them on a couple of regular Gibsons stock.

So, one of these days.  I never really look for them, but the alert was too tempting.
