Claimed to be Gruber's P bass from his stint with the Rods. If it stays low I might bid. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250737056217&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

As I side note I was working at the House of Guitars in Rochester NY at the time Heaven and Hell (or was it Never Say Die ?) was being recorded, we shipped a bunch of guitars up to a studio in Toronto for Black Sabbath, I wonder if this is one of them ?

Just a POV as I have no idea what they go for...

There's a late 70's T40 sitting at just over $200 right now falling over at about 2100 PST and a Gibbie LP Triumph with about $500 and roughly 3 days to run - neither are P's - this is a nice looking P, mind you, but is this a severe attack of GAS...?

(Devil/Angel on each shoulder - "Buy it...!" "Do you really need this one...?" "Don't listen to that joik; this is a shteal..." "There will always be another P..."  ;))

LOL Of course I don't need it, I have two 70's Ps all ready, there is a very nice EB3 I am watching though ;)

My '78 P is heavy but the most complimented bass I've ever owned. That one looks stellar so long as 10 pounds hasn't become too heavy in old age. I say that as one who can't gig with my heavy basses anymore due to neck, shoulder, and back issues. And I'm not even old!

So far weight isn't a issue for me. To be honest I won't play it much but I like it's history. I saw The Rods years ago and and even have the album, I always thought they were pretty badass.

Well... Christmas is coming and you may need something under the tree... ;D

I saw the Rods at the Marquee in '81 or '82 - astounded that I saw the present lineup...! The gig was a sell-out (700) and a lot of people couldn't get in as RJD was rumoured to be appearing but it never happened - good gig though...

What sort of price do they go for from that era...? scratch that - no point in jinxing the deal... ;)

Off it goes, decent price for a '79 P even without the celebrity connection.

Naw I passed, I have two 70's P basses I hardly play, like I really need another. I'm getting sensible in my old age.
