I'm pretty dispraxic so all my instruments start getting reliced pretty quickly.

but for my current build I want to keep it clean and shiny for as long as possible.

so my question is , does anyone know whether putting loads of extra layers of laquer will make it any more resistant to getting dinged?

or will more make it more likely to crack?

I feel like more should be better but...

Lacquer is fragile by nature. Doesn't matter if it's nitro or acrylic lacquer...they chip easily. More coats just makes a deeper chip when it happens.

If you want something more chip proof, use a polyurethane paint. On a solid body there's no difference in sound. Krylon makes their living with it.
