Sure looks like it is, check out the body contours. For a refin why would anyone take the time to reshape the top?

If you ask me it looks like he did. It's done kinda crudely. Not a very smooth contour.

Not custom shop. That's not any kind of carve that would be done by Gibson. The owner may have done it do reduce the weight, although the all-mahogany Specials weren't as heavy as the maple top models.

That's expensive for a refinned Special with a modified body. The copper color is nice enough but the finish doesn't look very well done. To be fair, that could be the lighting. Still too expensive.

I agree, nice idea, but homemade. Still something Gibson could think about - doesn't look as guitarish that way as the bevelling cites the Ripper style bevelling a bit. Very nice color though.

That one's been up before. I'm not crazy about the re-shaping, but I like the color. Works well with the black hardware. The contour reminds me of a PRS.

The contouring makes it look a little like a Hamer Monaco.
