To some in Texas, Rick Perry's political party is irrelevant - what matters is that he's an Aggie.

The old school ties, and all that.

I'm always surprised when a politician behaves like a normal human. For the most part I consider them a notch above child molesters and a notch below axe murderers.

Its a sad indictment when the real thing out does the parody. The parody of the parody that is Sir Les Paterson is in fact the member for Barton Bob Ellis.

FYI, those of you who are familiar with Dame Edna Everidge might be surprised to know that Sir Les is played by the same actor who is Dame Edna.

He actually did a semi-decent job on the drums when he sat in. We've played a few of his events, including the Governor's Christmas Ball at the Gov's Mansion(before it burned down). He's a nice guy, always remembers my dog's name, we just disagree on politics!

Hey, I met his predecessor when he was Da Guv and have a photo of me and him.  Also very nice guy, just not one I have many agreements with.

The former foreign minister of Australia under John Howard was Alexander Downer. Met him quite a few times as he lives locally 6 months of the year at least. These days the other six months he lives in Nicosia working for the UN there now. I'm a bit the same as you guys in that I like the guy but disagree on political points with him. Interesting to hear him shift (if not change) positions on certain things that Howard was hard line about now that he is no longer in govt.
