Did anyone here get that '64 Thunderbird pickup on eBay?
« on: October 27, 2010, 11:03:27 AM »
There was a rather scruffy looking '64 T-bird pup on eBay that was up to $127 last night but this morning the auction had been ended. In that auction was a photo of the bass with the comment that the "neck was broken so he was parting the bass out". Hopefully someone here saw that and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. It was a nice looking bass, too.

Both Baz and I contacted the guy about selling the whole bass and his response was 4 people had done the same and he would sell the whole thing, make your best offer.  As far as I know Baz did make an offer but I passed.  Just didn't feel right. My guess is somebody did buy the whole shebang outside of Ebay and that's why it's disappeared.  Probably his intent from the beginning.  Very low resistance on that pup and it looked like it had been in a flood.

I offered him $2,000.00. I would have had the money but a guy I was selling another bass to backed out. That pickup was a weak 6K.

LOL I emailed him about the bass also ! He told me quite a few people had asked about the bass, he said make a offer. I passed. Yeah 6k is pretty weak.

Sad little me... I've been to "The Village", way up in north-west Wales... now (and then) operates as a hotel... a truly stunning place...
