Thomas Gobina from Gogol Bordello
« on: July 24, 2010, 04:58:05 AM »
Is a hell of a bass player! Don't know how many of you like Gogol Bordello's brand of "gypsy punk" but I find it an absolute blast. I THINK, but am not sure, that Gobina uses a Lakland of some sort but haven't been able to find and when I saw them last year I was too far from that end of the stage to see. Whatever it is though, it has a really nice, bassy, sort of gritty sound. Makes me want to try harder!

Agreed, they're a blast. btw 18 years ago I used to play with their guitarist Oren Kaplan and former bass player (then drummer) Rea Mochiach.

Alternative rock, mainly.
