I just saw him in an old Cheyene episode from the mid 50s the other day. He was a young tadpole of a gunslinger. He died in that too ;)

He made a lot of westerns early in his career.  He was in Gunfight at the OK Corral (Lancaster and Douglas) and in Sons of Katie Elder and True Grit, as well as Hang Em High.  he appeared in a number of Bonanza and The Rifleman shows.  IMDB has 202 appearance credits for him, going back to 1954.
