I picked up a Zoom 4n recorder the other day and it is the coolest little toy!  Well, not really a toy, but a surprisingly well-feaatured recorder/mixer in a tiny portable package.

Four track recording and the sound quality is unreal.  I'm still learning how to use the darn thing, it's only got a couple thousand features and I know squat about recording, etc.  But, I did figure out how to record my basses directly into it via the 1/4" jack, so when I figure out the next step (exporting the files to my computer) I'll post some clips of my builds.  Very cool!

Yeah, Bruce gave me a good deal on one, so I decided to give it a spin.  I have a couple friends who use them to record their bands live all the time and the quality is super.  Very complicated though, so it's gonna take some time to learn all of its features.

Yeah, my wife probably feels the same way!  As I get older, however, she's less concerned about my spending.  Go figure!  It sure helps having the kids graduated and out of the house, totally on their own in their chosen professions.  Life does get better!!!  ;D

Let us know what you think of it after you have had a chance to use it for awhile. I'm waiting for the new H1 (thread), not a 4-track but will be able to record live.
