I was wondering too.  I don't recognize the body or neck.  I do have to say that I've seen the triangular cutout in the lower bout many time before.  Teisco used that style of cutout on a lot of their guiatars and basses from the good old days.  If I lived in UK, I'd take a crak at it and give it a new life.

I agree, I wouldn't pay too much for this outfit.  It's almost certainly Japanese and the quality could be anywhere on the continuum.
