Fill me in . Where was this stuff recorded at? I'm gonna guess the Grande Ballroom or the Eastown, this was MC-5 turf. I was there just about every weekend as long as they were open. Any links to this stuff? I wanna get in the wayback machine 8)

the MC5 show was recorded at wayne state university outside on tartar field. very good black and white video. the easiest way to find it is to go to youtube and enter MC5. the video selections will pop up and the one you want is the very first one, Kick Out The Jams. you will like it. ;) also check out Ramblin' Rose from the same show.

Ain't nothin' like a ride in the way back machine 8). That took me right back to my late teen years ;D
I played Tarter Field once or twice myself doing local radio station concerts. These guys were like the house band at the Grande Ballroom where they did their live album with Kick out the Jams. Before this stuff, when I was 13- 14 years old, the MC5 was a great cover band doing a lot of Stones and Animals stuff. Not a whole lot of people remember them from those days but they were really good.
My old drummer taught Dennis "machine gun"  Thompson how to play. I jammed with him several times. He is the hardest hitting drummer I've ever seen. He could do more damage to a set of drum heads in one night than most other drummers could inflict in a decade ;D.
Thanks for  stroll down memory lane.

I love that old MC5 footage, especially "Lookin At You".
