More and more I think Mark's "nagging(for lack of a better term, I love ya Mark!)" about the Lull pickups is coming true: Why not just bypass the "what-ifs" of old pups and get the Lulls which were reverse engineered and guaranteed to work?

I'd agree with that.  Vintage sound is what I'm looking for, but the prices are getting nuts.  I'm happy that I found one of those old Gibson pups for $125 a couple years ago, just waiting for a home in the BaCHBird.  At the point where you can get a Lull (or a Dark Star, or a Lollar Precision pickup), the price of vintage doesn't seem sensible any more.  The only thing I can see those in is a faithful restoration.

That would be a ton of $$$ for the pickups, surround and screws from this guy. $909 is way more than I'm willing to spend for all of that. I know, it's vintage. Still more than I could or would spend.

Hopefully someone else on this forum (Uwe  ) will buy some Lulls to back me up about how good they are......... Even if I had a '63 carcass that needed pups I'd buy Lulls for it as he matches them to a set with 8k neck and 9k bridge output.

At some point I will..............................I should test my '69 I bet it is hotter than 9k. I got one SD back it was over 10k, more in line with my '69. Another one came in at................. oh crap I can't recall exactly I'll have to look for the spec sheet, something like 7k.

Think of quality and quantity going hand in hand. I'd rather have a few less "better" basses.

This sellers prices are a bit (maybe a lot) optomistic. Probably why all these parts didn't sell last week. Fifty bucks for 3 pickup screws?

Even my luthier, with his box full of old screws, doesn't get crazy about things like screws.  He's been known to just give me a few when I need them.  And a screw is a screw is a screw.  It's kind of like selling "vintage" brake shoes.
