I like it.  I really liked Mikael Akerfeldt's work on Porcupine Tree's tour a few years back.
Awesome guitar work and great harmonies.
Have Fun.  Be Nice.  Mean People Suck.

I find it a much more mature effort & not as choppy / formula as their other works (which I still enjoyed). Certainly more prog than metal here

I am not a fan of the Growling " I am the beast" singing that occasionally interupts my listening pleasure on Opeth albums, especialy when Mikael Ã…kerfeldts normal singing is so good but I love the classic rock vibe that comes through a lot of their stuff.

My oldest son turned me on to Opeth...liked it till cookie monster started singing.  Opeth without cookie monster would be cool.

& thats what it is, some really killer guitar work on this, almost jazz rock inspired (gulp)



This one is almost Deep Purple like
