I've got a 67 thats clearly been messed with, and I was trying to ascertain how much was original. Mine has a resistor in there too, which corresponds with the schematic, but various connections are broken, and i'm a bit stuck trying to see precisely where they went

Welcome to the club!  I don't know what's what myself.  I'm just now learning this wiring/electronics stuff.  Never did have a need for it until I got into repairing/building!  I'm working on it!
