Thanks Scott and Henry. I'm pretty good all things considered. I can walk and work. I just got back from seeing a orthopedic neck specialist. Looks like i have carpal tunnel in both hands from getting jammed into the steering wheel. The intermittent numbness and tingling certainly does suck hard being a bass player but it's better than it was a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully a few weeks of therapy will take care of it. I can play without pain so I'm feeling optimistic about the outcome.

Wow I'm glad you walked away from this!  Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Let me think..., should I opt for Ebay sales too?

Honestly?  Yes.

For the, I dunno, $60 +/- in Ebay final value and Paypal fees, you will get global marketing targeted to buyers of such a bass - buyers that may have never been on a bass forum, and may be completely oblivious to the fact that these even exist (it's tricky to even find BaCH's site with a search engine!)

I don't know what kind of agreement you have with BaCH, but if they're charging you the price that they feel is fair, and ultimately buyers on Ebay determine what they feel is a fair price - then everyone goes home happy, right?

BaCH is good at building instruments, but the spotty communication and wire transfers would deter most direct buyers.  If you come in and provide a great customer experience via Ebay, offer easy means of payment and financing (i.e. Paypal or Google Payments) and build feedback reflective of yourself and the basses, then soon more and more buyers will gravitate to you.

You could setup your own site and direct people there for more info on the products, advertise the other finish options and pickup configs and have a mechanism for direct sales there.  As people start to purchase from you directly, then slowly cut Ebay out of the loop.  Maybe you could extend your services to other small builders that don't have bandwidth to support their own direct sales.

Ebay is not great for everything, but it could work well for you here if you can sort of duck and weave around the copyright thing.  Just a (mildly capitalist) thought from the peanut gallery, FWIW.  :)

Dang, I'd better get myself another BaCHbird while I can. Now, where's that TH-2 in Honeyburst... or maybe an Inverness Green one!

Gute Besserung! A car crash could have turned out a lot worse.

sorry to hear about your paws. I had both wrists done and a transposition of my right ulnar nerve several years back . My surgeon was great. I enjoyed the drugs doubled up with  a couple beers  & about 4 hours of 3 stooges. ( or any 2 or 3 sophomoric comedies).  My paws work fine except now I have bone degeneration in my neck which causes hand cramping very similar to  a charlie horse but in hands & fore arms. If they give you stretches & excercises , do them religiously, it helps. Anything is better than goin under the knife again . Hang tough.

Thanks everyone. Had my first phys therapy apt today. Lots of stretches. I'm all over it. I had rotator cuff surgery a few years ago so know the drill. That shoulder's now better than the "good" one. Wow I can't believe that TH-2 went for $895!!! That's insane. Wouldn't you do a little research first and see what they cost? Bachbird research is what landed me here. Although mine's for sale do to the accident and associated expenses there's definitely another in my future. At least one!

Who knows, maybe Gibson bought it, to reverse-engineer it, lol.

They gave us the Reverse Flying V , maybe they'll come up with a reversed nonreverse Thunderbird body.
