Thanks everyone!  It is the faded cherry finish.  I can't read any of the pot codes but looks to be all original inside the cavity.   The serial number is in the 880000 range so that puts it at '67.  It is set up with flats and the action is great.  Has some fret wear but still a lot of life left in them.  I have to find a pickguard for the bass as the one on it really doesn't fit well.  Plus there are holes for the tugbar.  I had to put the Rick Turner Bass on consignment because I had to have this bass.  One comes in, the other goes out.  Did the BIN on Ebay and got it for $1,049 delivered!  It has the cool checking in the finish too.  Nice fat neck which I love on these.  I've been listening to Wheels Of Fire recently.  Had to get in the mood.

You got an excellent deal on that.

How I knew that just from the pic! Where's the applause?!!!   :rimshot:

Real walnut just doesn't look that nice.
