Anyone have any opinions about these amps? I'm thinking of buying one. Mostly due to a combination of Crowns reputation, the amps output and price (which is quite cheap).

I have one and I like it.  it's got plenty of power and has never given me any trouble.  it doesn't seem to color the sound and I've never had it break up, always good and clean.   it's a little heavy and the cooling fans are on the loud side but they can't be heard while playing.  I was concerned about it being made in China but I've gotten over that.  the price was too low to walk away from.  if it suits your needs, I don't think you can go wrong.

Thanks for that Ramone, I did get it, second hand still in warranty (which Crown say is transferable). Cost me about US$480 New they are about US$700 here.

No, not tube. Good solid power amp though. I use mine with a Joe Meek pre, but I only used it as a backup to the ton of bricks heavy Sunn.

Never owned anything Crown but I've been around them a lot for about 40 years. Toobies or solid states always seem to get the job done and always seem to hold up well. A buddy of mine has a brother who works for Crown and over the years he has had a boatload of different Crown amps for various PAs he has done both for himself and others. Good stuff , is all I can say. Especially at the discounted price he gets on everything ;D
