For my birthday I received a slide converter (35mm to digital). It's fun going through old slides from summers at the family cottage in upstate NY.  Pics of my 5'2" grandmother holding a muskie almost as tall as she are cool.  And, the different cars my dad owned over the years are interesting reminders of road trips and what was playing on the radio between 1960 and 1975.

We have tons of old family slides that I got when my parents passed away. There is a fun family element of everyone sitting arounf watching old slides that a computer does not give.
