Dave doesn't like Amy because he despises her lifestyle. But is she ugly? More of a strange bird (though not my type at all) in the Patti Smith (I thought Patti pretty) vein of things. I once spoke to my teenage daughter about Amy vs. Duffy ("Mercy") and she said: "Duffy is just hopping on some train, but Amy, the way she sings and looks, her style, that is totally original and cool". She did not deem the alcoholic, anorexia and other drug excesses "cool" though.

No, she's just plain ugly. As Bo Diddley would say, she's so ugly her mama had to put a sheet over her head so sleep could slip up on her.

I despise her lifestyle, no doubt about it. Most junkies don't revel in their problem, she seems to love it. But she'd be butt-ugly even if she weren't a junkie.

How about Janis Joplin - no looks but what a voice, and an exceptionally tainted lifestyle, God rest her...

"Drugs" are plain evil; is alcohol much better...?

I've seen a few early pictures of her where she actually looked very attractive, it's too bad what drugs and alcohol can do. She's actually very talented too. Civil or whatever his name is is no walking paragon of sobriety either.

IMHO she's always been a two-bagger.

Civil is apparently an out-of-control junkie too. Hard to say which of them got the worst of the deal.
