This is just something a friend forwarded to me - personally I think the version is ok, but the intro is just stunning sound effects, all made with the body...

Sounds like rain at the beginning, nice.  And Toto were perennially uncool, but some of the stuff they did was never replicated. I've always liked this and their slightly off the wall Hydra album.

I always thought of Steve Lukather as a poor-man's Neal Schon, who I always rated as an exceptional player, including his solo material and the Schon/Hammer works...

The website link that it came with described the "effects" as an "African Thunderstorm"...

If push comes to shove, Journey is probably my favorite late seventies/early eighties megaseller stadium AOR band. With REO, I never dug Cronin's voice, Styx were too pretentious and sometimes almost Broadway'ish, Foreigner I thought of as Bad Co minus the grit and blues, Boston used the same recipe over and over and Toto were more of a gathering of fine studio musicians than a unit. Journey was differemt, I always appreciated their West Coast feel, Schon's jazz and Rolie's blues influence. With the advent of Cain, they lost that blues feel, but of course he took their songwriting to another level. I like Steve Perry's voice, call me a whimp!!!

Seen all of those bands, Uwe... put on great shows at the tiime (76-82) ... Styx was supported by Cannucks "Saga", whom I rate their 1st 4 lps as well worth a listen, if AOR of that era is your occasional poison...

For a while (early eighties), Saga absolutely ruled Germany. Based on a good TV performance, they made inroads even in non-prog markets. They were more popular here than anywhere else and Germany is still a place where they can fill a medium-sized hall even to this day. "Vorsprung durch Technik!", we like that, even with Cannucks.  The vocals always left me cold, but I've got a couple of their early albums with Climbing the ladder, Humble Stance etc.

Maybe I should give the new album a chance now they have a new singer.
