It is pretty cool, in a sad way, but somebody used the dang thing as a tea bag somewhere along the way.  I have only seen that kind of finish junk and de-lamination with things that were in a flood.

Quotethe fret board came off, it looks like it didn't get very much glue at the factory
Umm, no.

I have a hard time believing it has been bid that high without anyone noticing the one picture with the fret board completely off.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

I saw one of these for sale in Austin about 2005, IIRC it was about $2200 but it was in VG+ shape. This one's awful.

No location listed. That thing sure got wet.

So, if it were a Fender, would be a highly desirable relic, instead of a sadly damaged instrument?

Ok.....

I suppose to make a lot of Fender relic fans happy, a minor application of chainsaw would also be needed. :P

I think even for Fender relic fans, having the fretboard literally fallen off the neck is beyond the beat aesthetic.

Dearly beloved, we are here today to mourn the passing of EB2...

What a horrible mess... I really have to start to get some of my loft junk down for selling to start building up funds... really goes to show that people will buy any old tat...  :o

It's just a bit "road worn", that's all.

"Road worn" ... !?!

That's more like the paddle I lost whilst up sh*t creek a few decades back...  ;)

In that case, there's a very minor distinction between "road worn" and "road kill".

My wife's late uncle would occasionally comment about "road kill" as "good eatin', boy"... I suspect he would have used the SC-paddle as "fire-wood" for his "road-kill stew" ... including my squirrel...
