It should come as no surprise that being a TV personality comes with risks (although which ones depends on what TV show you happen to be on) and sometimes those risks can turn out to be a threat to that person's life.

So let's talk about the persons who dodged bullit while shooting for their programs.

First up here's Richard Hammond

Hammond of course is known for presenting Brainiac and for being the shortest of the trio of presenters of Top Gear and it was in the latter of those two shows that Hammond faced the grim reaper. In September 2006 he suffered serious brain injury sustained in a high-speed (288.3 mph, 464.0 km/h) crash in a jet engined car, during filming for Top Gear.

The actual footage of the crash and a still visibly shaken Hammond telling exactly what went wrong.

Ehren McGhehey

"Danger Ehren" is a member of the Jackass crew so it shouldn't be a surprise that his life is in more danger while shooting the show than any other TV personality. Ehren looked death in the face when doing a stunt called "Dry Throat"  in which fellow Jackass crew member Dave England bets $20 that Ehren wouldn't swallow a whole spoonful of flour. Ehren wins the bet, but at the price of almost killing himself considering that the flour had badly dried his throat suffocating him. Note: This sketch was not allowed anywhere on television. It was originally planned to be included on a special compilation called "Jackass: Too Hot for MTV", which was never released due to the controversy surrounding the show over its content.

Only one i can think of offhand is that Michael Palin nearly drowned during filming of the Fish Slapping Dance when John Cleese whacked him with the halibut and knocked him into the canal. Cleese mentioned it in a Python special I saw years later. He said they didn't know Palin couldn't swim and at first thought he was joking when he called for help.

Nagel never worked out but for some reason he was persuaded to for some tv show & died as a result.
He was found dead in his car after the show.
