Why a Rivoli?

I've had two of them, sold them both but yet I'm strongly attracted to them and would like to have another one. Why? The sexy body shape? The less than robust E string output? The fact that so many British groups used them in the 60's? I wish I could afford another one but not now by golly. Here's one owned by a fellow who decided twice the mud was better than one-

Too bad she is hacked, as the finish is nice.  I started out wanting one pretty badly, then never ended up with one when I had the chance(s).  I would have to find one at a garage sale now I think, but I still want one.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

I like the two-Mudbucker look of this one! Nice!

Is that headstock the way those sixties models looked? Looks like the eighties/nineties Jap reissues to me, but I might be mistaken. But somehow that bass looks "newish" to me.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

Look at the Rivoli headstock in this 1966 catalog page from Jules' site: http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/epiphone66p5.php. Shape looks okay to me.

At a glance it does look newer, until you look at the back-of-headstock shot. That looks old to me.

I have a weakness for Rivs too.  I had the reissue and it was OK< but I'd love to have a vintage one some day.
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Here's my '69 EB-2 with factory dual large mudbuckers and stereo outs.

Worse still. He's teaching the poor infant to play the bass the wrong way around!!! Final, compelling and scientific proof that this lefty thing ain't hereditary at all, it is acquired!!!  ;D

Seriously, Ronn, can you already tell whether he (I'm assuming gender from the facial expression!) is left-handed too?

Haha, well that's the way he plays it!
I have no prior experience as he's my first child but I have noticed that if you put something in his right hand he will usually shift it to his left hand. He just turned 9 months.
