Took the hook with him to the electric just like Jamerson. Seems like an inefficient type of technique to commit to but you can't argue with his results.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Some people just do. Geddy Lee plays with one finger mostly.

Chuck Rainey is another one finger guy.

Jack Bruce played one finger with an assist from index and middle finger where needed.
