PS: "Ritchie with Pilgrim hat and Ronnie" is actually a promo shot from when they both started Rainbow in 1975. Ritchie's rapidly receding hairline had become an issue (for him) by then and it would take a few years before he had his first hair transplant which had him all of the sudden change from this (1974):

"THINNING HAIR"?!

to this here (1977):

Once the hair problem got fixed, the Pilgrim hat made no reappearance though Ritchie retained a penchant for more dramatic headwear even in later years.
